Self Hypnosis
Many hypnotists say that all hypnosis is really self hypnosis, because
the client is always in control of their own trance and can reject any
suggestion they choose at any time. Having said that, there is a difference,
because true self-hypnosis takes a little practice before useful results
can be achieved, whereas the benefits of hypnosis administered by a good
therapist can be immediate.
Still, the advantages of being able to hypnotise yourself at will, at
any time, are very great. Your self-control in all situations can be increased,
you could learn to control pain, work more effectively and creatively...
the possibilities are almost endless. and best of all, once you become
good at self hypnosis, you need never pay for therapy again!
It is a principle of this practice to teach basic self-hypnosis techniques
as part of the client's treatment, should they wish to learn; we also
offer a more advanced programme for anyone who is interested in developing
their self-hypnosis skills further
Self Hypnosis Applications
What is self hypnosis used for?
Self hypnosis can be used for just about anything that depends on your
own efforts. "Your own efforts," incidentally, is a much broader
category than most people think. For instance, it includes many of the
autonomically mediated functions – those things your body does without
your conscious involvement. So your use of self hypnosis is not limited
to just those things you consciously do and control.
A complete list of all of the ways in which self hypnosis has been used
would be too long and probably impossible to compile. However, here is
a partial list of applications:
